The National Institutes of Health, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and the Office of Research on Minority Health have sponsored the project “Salud para su Corazón” (Health for your heart).
This project, implemented by the Community Alliance Working for Heart Health, has the goal to help the Hispanic community to live a heart-healthy life style.
“Heart disease is the number one killer of Latin Americans. By making a few simple changes in everyday habits, all of us can help prevent heart attacks and strokes. Eating less fat (especially saturated fat), cholesterol, and salt and sodium can make a difference” is stated in the presentation of this brochure.
The following recipe for Fresh Salsa included in this fabulous online publication, is a menu item of “Mi Sombrerito” Restaurant located in 10820 Rhode Island Ave in Beltsville, Maryland. “Mi Sombrerito” has joined the project “Salud para su corazón”, by offering healthy dishes in their menu.
Salud Latina hopes it will become one of your family's favorites.
