Knee injury sidelines Honduran

Amado Guevara, a Honduran midfielder and captain of Major League Soccer's MetroStars, is expected to be out for three to five weeks with a left knee injury.
The suburban New York-based club announced here Wednesday that their 29-year-old leading scorer underwent successful surgery to repair torn cartilage in the knee.
Guevara had been named a starter for the MLS All-Star Game on July 30 where the US league's top talent will face English Premiership side Fulham.
Guevara, who has six goals and six assists so far this season, suffered the injury after in the 87th minute of a 1-1 draw on Saturday with Colorado .
The MetroStars are 6-4 with six drawn and rank fourth in the Eastern Conference of the 12-team league. |
